Subject: RIGHT NASAL CAVITY SUDDENLY BECOMES SENSITIVE TO WARM AIR
Have had turbinates removed from right sinus's. Problem is long,
begagn in 1993 with a botched sinus surgery, changed physicians in
1996. After three surgeries(30 , the last in 2000(2 turbinates
removed) infections became tolerable , but taste and smell never
totally returned. In the past 3 yrs. have been bothered(depite monthly
treatment by AENT) with sudden sensation that air hurt right nasal
cavity, area becomes hot, cool, or cold air will gradually cause it
settle down. Oftentimes I have to leave the house, get in car, and
drive around with A/C aimed at nose. My body is cold, but the relief
of cold air on sinus's feels so good. Eventually, it seems to settle
down. ENT MD has never answered the question why this happens. On tis
last visit, he ordered a RX from ASL Pharmacies in CA. It is a
combination of Tobramcyin 125 mg, Budesonide .6ml, and Mupiricon 3.3
mg.  I have not received it yet, insuarnce company paid 100%. Wondered
if anyone had any experience with these medications. I suspect, he
ordered a steriod to deal with sudden sensation of heat, and pain.

If familiar with this please let me know, and your results

There is something called the "Empty Nose Syndrome" when your
Turbinates are removed.  The cure sometimes is worse than the initial
medical medical problem.  You might Google this and see what infor you
come up with.
