Just wanted to tell any of you living here in Britain with me that there has been new news come in that many expensive original medicines are being made into generic versions starting from Jan 2010.
The Department of Health have been strongly pushed by the National Society of Epilepsy (NSE) authorities to try and push a motion through to say how epilepsy is different from other conditions, and so any change in the ingredients of their meds is likely to be dangerous to persons epilepsy any amounts of seizures they may have!!

Hi. I'm in Canada and last month had to change the Doctor who treated me for last ~30 years (even before the szrs). Well actually I *lost the original Doctor to his own Chronic Health Conditon (I wasn't aware of) :-< .. I'm still waiting to hear back about how or when they plan to move my Medical History (the original Doctor would have had in his files), to another Doctor or one of my choosing.
My newer Doctor said *he didn't think there was any difference between the Tegretol CR (Controlled Release) generic and the Frisium (Clobazam) generics, and the Originals, so wrote my replacement prescriptions for both as the Generics. (We have Prescription Insurance as most companies in Canada, so any saving one versus the other is only 20% net cost to us, while it saves the Insurer a lot more comparatively. I expect they'll be happy... )
I have been using the Generic Frisium for about a week with no differences that I'm aware of except a little 'brain fog' that might be from change in weather = Air Pressure (my C.P. szrs used to have a Aura that was like that). I haven't finished the older Tegretol Controlled Release yet, so haven't moved onto full Beta Test (me) using Both Generics.... I expect I'll be on both for several weeks by Christmas. !! I'll report any negative effects from this side of the 'pond' .... /G.
