My back and hips have been really really bad. They've put shots, but they don't last, so they are going to try PT. I had my first appointment today. They are also doing PT on Mom's hands, so we get the appointments together. Evidently, I've been doing the right exercises, I'm just going to need some additional ones and different timing on the ones I have. I'll have to put a little more effort into them, too. Hopefully, I'll be able to fix the problem which is: not being able to stand more than 3-5 minutes at a time without back going into spasms. Here's hoping this will help. I am starting three times a week for thirty days and then they will re-evaluate. My Morton's neuromas are not happy right now. Please pray for me. Thank you. Mom is optimistic that hers will help her.
I hope the PT does the trick for your back and hips. I don't know if you do alot of walking around but that could be part of the problem. I know it was mine at one point I almost ended up in a wheel chair because I was walking too much. Once I quite the outside walking I got better. I am hyper and walk around in the house alot.
I hope the PT works on your mom's hands too.
You rest up and take care. Prayers coming for you and your Mom.

Could the mortons neuroma be throwing off your gait to the point of effecting your hips and back? Just a thought!
Hope PT can help you get more comfortable!

Actually, no, I cannot walk too far. I would love to take off and just walk like I used to. I did a lot of walking on my job, out into the plant, etc. I don't walk around the house too much, though probably not as much as I should. Mom suggested that every hour (set a little timer), get up from the computer and walk down to the other end of the house. I've been trying to do that.
Woke up last night with lots of pain. Gradually it went away, but I spent a good three hours reading and wondering if I wanted to fire up the old computer and get on to the Newsgroup. I didn't. Did exercises this morning and concentrated on the stretching as the PT told me to. Well, we will see how it works. Mom feels pretty good about her PT. Her first at-home assignment is to play with silly putty for at least two minutes twice a day.

Definitely it is part of the problem. I will just have to probably use a walker or a cane because of that. I'm sure it affects it as I can really feel it, when I try walking too far without a cane.

I know I've had times when PT seemed to make things worse for the first couple of visits until the muscles adjust some. Hopefully that's all this awful night was for you and the PT will soon begin to help some.
