I saw you posting - does that mean your moving day is over and your internet working Rose?
Hopefully it went well and you are just resting today. It is a holiday. So leave the worst f the boxes and the dissertation and rest and read junk books if you have them somewhere accessible. Rest and pet the cat so he gets used to his new home. did your shower get done in time?? Was thinking of that on my holidays but couldn't post.
Today is the second day packing day for me. Realtor is coming in on Monday so time to again purge so I can downsize and start packing stuff that I don't need to make a difference in the looks of the inside of the house. My moving day will hopefully be in August before my infusion but will see what I can rent in Steveston. I hope to have to make only one trip over to look for places - maybe the end of the month after the quilting lady's road trip to Washington. Time is going so fast now that decisions to sell, legal seperation etc have come through. Counselling for the 2 of us on how to handle the end are next Thursday. We will leave the divorce for later - who knows maybe in 10 months if I haven't moved on and he has figured out what is going on with him with his counsellor then he can come court me and go through counselling together. Instead at the moment it is over. Too many tears in the 3 months after he left and too much pain. That is just since leaving. Too many years of this before to convince him he needed help. So right now neither of us are ready to begin again - time to heal. So that is why I have been quiet (as well as being in Seattle for the week).
So rest today Rose and let us know what happens at the rd appointment. Will be thinking of you with a cold drink in hand today sitting on a lawn chair (is that possible??)
Kelly, practice what you preach and take some rest, too. If possible, put the lawn chair out in the new place and admire all the good points. (No picking out the negative side - we are strictly positive today). Thanks for the support you have given the rest of us.

I am actually doing well today Navy. I have wandered my garden, thrown out 4 bags of garbage, sorted out 3 huge huge boxes for second hand store, almost done 1/2 so my sewing room, sold my serger for cash quite by accident and am about to take a nap. After my nap no work - only quilting and a drink!!!! I deserve it. No negatives at all today. It has been a tough couple of days.
My mom comes on Sunday thank goodness now. Pat comes tomorrow to ding out his office and empty the wheelbarrows of all the weeds I pulled before Seattle. Will hire a young man for Friday to come and work in the yard to tidy it up and haul some boxes to the car for second hand store, haul away garbage and haul boxes from where I have put them in the house into the garage. I am gathering all my miniature dollhouse stuff as I go and putting them on the dining room table to be photographed to sell. It sounds like a lot but really isn't. I have empty boxes everywhere and I just keep putting things into those boxes as I go. It is actually quite organized in a way - have done this so many times but never purged as much as this.
So off to the rest. navy - everyone here supports me as much as I do them. Seems some times that in the past 4 years I have always been asking for support between the enbrel reaction and the recovery as well as the rituxan. I love sharing anything I can that makes things better. It is a tough row to hoe so to speak.
Hope you are feeling a little better today. Just watch it doesn't turn into pneumonia - get in fast if you are having trouble breathing too much.

I took the third 10mg tablet at noon. The nurse told me to go back on the 30mg until I see the doctor. I feel so much better now. Very little shortness of breath. Thanks for the advice. I would have called 911 if I did have too much trouble. They can get here faster than my son can. They can also decide if I need to go in.

Hi Kelly and all, First I am sorry to hear that things have progressed towards a legal separation or divorce. You know what is best for you though, and know what has brought you to this place. the decision you will make will be the best one, I am sure. Life is short, and we all deserve to be happy. Who knows what the future will bring; it may be that you get back together, or not. whatever the outcome, I hope it results in a better place than you are at now.
I was without cable or telephone service until yesterday, just before I had to leave for my appointment with the rheumy. He suggested that I schedule my next rituxin for after the surgery but before I leave the hospital. I am not sure how I will make the follow-up visit two weeks later, but I will manage somehow.
This house is huge. I love it though. the shower is being installed right now. it is quite a process, and the former owner/builder of this house has been working on the shower for 3 days already since I have been here, and also before I moved in. it is quite the process. it should be useable tomorrow. in the meantime, there is a shower downstairs. I may rent out the basement in the future as it is a huge space, is finished nicely, and would be a waste to leave empty. I had not been downstairs before since there was no railing and I could not go down. I was surprised when I saw it as it seems huge.
I have not yet sat outside with the cool drink. I have been so tired and the pain level has been high. I did go to see the fireworks on Canada Day, but otherwise have been either unpacking or doing similar things. this house is big, but it is still hard to find a spot for everything.
I am so glad to be connected to the real world again though.
So glad to hear your move went okay. Will email or phone later in the week - heading out right now. give yourself a day to relax as much as possible and try to get the pain and fatique under control. you have been in the middle of a whirlwind for so long Rose.
Glad you are back connected - feels horrible not to be able to communicate doesn't it.

Sounds like a fascinating place. When you are feeling much better, I would love to see some pictures. I've always wanted a big old house with a squeaking swing on the porch to sit in in the evening and watch the fireflies. We don't have fireflies down here any more. I think I saw one or two a couple of years ago. They do a drive through spraying at night for the mosquitos and I think the mosquitos took the fireflies with them in their death throes. Darn. That is one of the fondest memories I have of my childhood is catching fireflies and watching them in bottles and then letting them go again. As for having the big old house, I'm afraid I am no longer capable of taking care of one. It's a shame to have a house like that and not be able to keep it up. Hope your shower is done soon. I didn't realize how refreshing a shower could be until I couldn't take baths anymore (durn UTIs). It was so nice, after getting sweaty, to feel clean so quickly.

I hope you get your shower done and soon. Boy it sure sounds like you really were pushing it. I hope you can slow down now and get some rest time in. glad you love the house. It sounds like it will be good for you. hey the basement might be good for hot days to cool down some.
glad you are back with us. take your time now settling in ok so that you don't overdo it. -- Love and hugs to all Love Squirrely Jo

Darn is right. I remember at age 7 and 8 living in Virginia and doing exactly what you described.

I hear that Loujean and Chief, I miss those days in PA. They just don't have them here or at least where I have lived here. I feel the boys missed out on alot because of that. We used to call them lightening bugs. -- Love and hugs to all Love Squirrely Jo

My next door neighbor and I were just talking about ligtening bugs last weekend. There aren't many of them around here any more. Ten years ago you could sit outside at night and enjoy watching hundreds of them and now you are lucky to see one or two. I wonder if it's something in the environment killing them off. My neighborhood hasn't changed much as far as new building or loss of woodland during these years. Thanks for the memories of catching them when we were young.

I never saw a firefly after we left Virginia and came to California. Some folks say they never existed west of Texas.
> I feel the boys missed out on alot because of that.
I'll have to ask my 2 boys who spent time in Delaware and Virginia in the '80s if they saw fireflies. Never thought of the subject until it popped up here a couple days ago. <G>

that is a shame that people west of Texas never got the chance to experience them. I had so much fun with them when I was little. Heck I would still have fun with them if they were around. I might be older but the inside of me never did grow up. ;-) There is still a kid hidden in there. LOL

We had a lot of them when I was growing up on Long Island. I don't know if they are still around. We don't have them at all in Washington, I don't think, as I've never seen one out here.

And I can tell you how someone could build an empire even in this crummy economy. People are very much like small children, or even cats and dogs. When they are unhappy (or even when they are happy) they want treats. Not snacks really, but treats.
Just ask Starbucks. People aren't in there for the quality of the coffee. They want a treat.
We are also very happy with small toys. We are overdue for some inventions in this area.
