Checked the blog out briefly and noticed your "love" of caffiene and sugar. These two things can be detrimental to any kind of comfortable recovery. Probabably two most important things for me are good nutrition and exercise. Try and find some balance in life and look for positive ways to use your newfound nervous energy. Best wishes.

His addiction is alcohol. that's what he wants to give up. If he gives up the other things he loves then he will have nothig in his life annd start drinking again. Coffee and sugar are fin in moderation.

Alcohol is fine in moderation also. Point is overuse of caffeine and simple carbohydrates can lead to anxiety and lead to cravings for alcohol. Anything is fine in moderation. Nutrition and exercise go a lot further to overcoming alcohol problems than prayer.

Are you sure about that? Far as I know anyone can pray with their mouth closed, but have you ever seen anyone drink with their mouth closed?

Actually, I just wrote that bit to see if I could get a response. Wondering how many out there were still checking in here.

Indeed they do but his addiction isn't caffeine. Mine was alcohol too. I love coffee (real stuff) but I moderate that easily.

I think that a shame. There was "some" interesting discussion here at one time. There was a wide variety of opinions and experiences.

Arfers seem to have disappeared completely, but old movies are still being run at alt.recovery.aa :-)
Logging in to Usenet seems like a trip to a decaying museum. Hope the new generations of Twitterers and MySpacers find their venues as informative as Usenet was for me when I needed it.
