Is it Jeff or is it Phil?
Mike, if he is such a person, is a fanatic or a person portraying Mike as a fanatic. Best, GaryE who are you talking about? If this continues, we may have to see if we can put it in the FAQ. See, it's like this: Gary thinks that everybody that disagrees with him is actually one or two people posting under a ...

God NO!!! Not another side.
It is axiomatic that fanatics and extremists will consider even moderation as opposition and all opposition as flawed characters or stupid. Know you aren't an extremist or fanatic, that you are well, more than mainstream with 3/4's of the world in your corner as "anti US" (That's what you wrote up there). ...

Serious question
Your not much different from fanatic thumpers are you? I am a mirror of thy soul . *points* *laughs* was tough to respond to so this is it? Darling, your posts get the respect that they deserve. That's why the *victim* can put forward their complaints. <shakes head sadly> creating scenarios that make you feel good ...

Religious or "Spiritual": Alcoholic Anonymous's 12 Steps- You ...
You weren'ta member, you were a goddam fanatic... Screw service work... I give the local Alano club that I go to every now and then a check every year... They need money and I consider that doing my part... So the time I spend here is minuscule compared to that. But there are people who spend a great deal of time ...

What REAL AA spiritual life looks like
CW tru_p...@pacbell.net alt recovery aa GaryE wrote: I'ma religous fanatic. My " religious fervor" comment was really directed towards someone else, but hey, it broke the ice. I've constructed this model of Jesus and I'm trying to see how he would come across today using the same style he used then. heh. ...

How do you handle this kind?
They usually become fanatics because they vest so much (my opinion based on my experience with more than one fanatic in more than one 'cause') of their person and they can's seem to moderate. They have to create some fanatical hard world that doesn't accommodate anything but 'believers.' They are at war with anyone ...

Alcoholics are not Drug Abusers!!!!
Fanaticism is not required for sobriety but some would have you believe, of course, it is. on the other hand, i suppose some people need to be fanatic. giving up fanaticism for drink leaves a hole. so the fanaticism is transferred, i guess. maybe the "message" is get sober and get out quick and get on with life .... ...

Coffee and Cigarettes
It's difficult, if not outright impossible, to stop a fanatic from his self appointed rounds. And there are fanatics in AA, none would deny, would they? I certainly would not. One other thing that bothers me about this story is the aversion to hugging. It certainly was his right not to hug anybody if he didn't want ...

Rational? Recovery & AVRT
Crosspost alt.atheism and alt.religion if you want to see equally fanatic and oposing beliefs in action. But if you step away from it, just a bit, you'll see the exact same ardent defense of personal beliefs. It will demonstrate nothing about religion, God, or athieism, but it will demonstrate that what someone ...

Getting the Professional Help you Need
... keep suffering like this, when there's such good reliable help available. You owe it to yourself and others. God speed to you. Sounds like a diagnosis. May I see your credentials. Or.....as Herr. Ashcroft would say.....your papers please. Yeah, Gary, just what are your credentials to diagnose anyone as " fanatics."
