(1) Since when does the Bible have ANY relevance to the 17%
of the American population that is NOT Judeo-Christian?
(2) Since when did the Bible ever authorize, appoint, or even
condone ANY person or group to act as ENFORCERS of

espouses) vis-a-vis society in general? Cite any specific
passage that does... or accept the fact that the Bible
authorizes NO Gestapo. (Which makes any person who

Whether or not being an active homosexual is right of wrong
is absolutely NONE of my business, and NONE of yours, or anyone
else's. They enjoy their sex in private, just like heterosexuals. And
a very significant percentage of heterosexuals even practice the
SAME sex acts as they do. I'm not a Gestapo agent an neither are
you. You can PLAY as though you were, like someone who's totally
an arrested-development (spelled, "immature") case, but that will
only get you either laughed-at or pitied a whole lot, by people
having common sense and intelligence.

God may or may not agree with homosexuality. But if it's the
latter, he obviously didn't think it was a big enough problem to
cover in the Ten Commandments. And Jesus ever spoke a single
word against it. The only people who DID were 100% human
(and thus fallible, and potentially prone to bigotry) writers. And
since the Bible contains literally hundreds of mistakes and contra-
dictions, it obviously isn't *totally* inspired.

What we really see here, with the word, "homophobe," is
an attempt to come up with a single word to encapsulate the
concept, "one who believes that homosexuals deserve to be
subjected to discrimination."
Until we can come up with a reasonably-derived word that
can accomplish that, then I guess we are stuck with having to
regard people who feel that way as "homophobes."
However... there IS a way to convey that meaning in just
two or three words (depending on how one chooses to regard
the hyphenated portion... as one word or two. What we cur-
rently call a homophobe is -- literally and in reality -- an:
anti-gay bigot.
And when used within a discussion in which the "anti-gay"
aspect has already been established, THEN it can be accom-
plished with the application of just ONE single noun: bigot.
Which, of course, can reasonably be modified with any
of *many* very accurate and appropriate adjectives. Such
as:
mindless
hateful
socially-retarded
stupid
ignorant
brainless
despicable
sociopathic
loathsome
Well... you get the picture. Since there is no such thing as
an intelligent, compassionate, humanitarian, sensible, fair-
minded, or egalitarian bigot. "Bigot" ALWAYS connotes an
overtly- or covertly-negative person whose presence is
**detrimental** to society in some manner, and to some degree.
As, of course, ALL anti-gay bigots truly are, from that standpoint.
It reminds us of the old story of the "Attaboys" and the
"Awsh*ts." A person might accumulate thousands of kudos
(the complimentary exclamations of, "Attaboy!"), only to have
them be completely wiped out, negated, and forggots by the
commission of just ONE horrific gaffe or mistake that merits his
hearing an exclamation of "Aw, SH*T!!" from a superior, or from
society.
E.g. -- a crane opeator can hoist tens of thousands of loaded
containers onto a ship flawlessly, earning him a constant stream
of kudos from his boss. But if just ONE time, after all that, he
drops a heavy container into a ship's hold from a significant
height, and the heavy thing sails right through the ship's hull,
and thus sinks the ship, you can COUNT on the likelihood that
ALL of the operator's previous "Attaboys!" will instantly have
been wiped out and forgotten -- justifiably.
And no matter HOW good or appealing a person may be on
the outside, he has a rotten CORE if he/she believes that dis-
criminating against any person or group of people is justified
over a mere TRIVIALITY... and then publicly *demonstrates*
that hateful belief, in writing, speech, or action.
And just like handedness, skin color, eye color, etc. -- the
way that a person chooses to have sex **in private** with one
or more consenting, of-age partners, is both TRIVIAL **and**
NO one else's business.
Hence, the appropriateness of "stupid" as a modifier for any
and all people who choose to be anti-gay bigots.
