I've been "Googling" for an hour or so, but with no luck. It seems that there isn't an exif program out there that will show whether or not Image Stabilization was used on my Canon 20D, 100-400 lens combo. I guess that as the IS is a function of the lens and not the camera it's not possible to show this info in the exif? Cheers,

assuming that information is written to the file, exiftool will show it.
nikon writes out the status of stabilization, but i don't know about canon. if i had to guess i'd say the 20d does not write it to the file, since it's relatively recent that nikon cameras started doing it.

On my 450D with the latest (3.7.2) Digital Photo Professional, the IS setting doesn't seem to appear in the available metadata (while fancy stuff like AF point used is now available). So my guess is that the cameras do not put this info in the exif data so far (at least up to the 450D)

The IS status doesn't show in the Exif data on my Canon 10D or 40D.

I can't say for a Canon, but PhotoME shows whether IS is in use on my Pentax K100DS shots. However, since that uses in-body IS, it may not help you

Yes, I tried photoMe, but as you say it's no help:)
