Weatherly & Gastrich I am sorry for not understanding your mental health or disability issues, but I believe what you say about me is false.
For your information I recently tried to receive help from county Mental Health and they told me that I am not serious enough for treatments. Also at school I was cleared and told that whatever issues I have were not serious enough to warrant further help. So I chose to continue to receive counseling, but this was my choice, not their reccomendation.
You and other mean spirited posters like to claim I am ill and this and that. But when I have told you that I have been cleared and was rejected into receiving treatments you and the others are silent or ignore what I said.
Not saying this is a factor, but it is possible that because I currently reside in a poor economy, mental health only has the funds to see the most severe of severe clients. And if I were to relocate to the Bay Area, LA, San Diego or some large working economy I probably could very easily receive assistance. I believe this very well could be an explanation. Around it looks like In would probably need to commit a crime or do something very stupid to see mental health.

You must have some problem or else you would not have wasted time and energy just to explain to everyone that you do not have a major mental issue. The more emotionally secure would not have even bothered, whereas the more spiritually mature would have kept in mind the biblical teachings about what to do when accused falsely.

John, I'm glad to see you posting to alt.disability.issues. We welcome matters related to all types of disabilities, including mental health issues. But, in this instance, I'm not sure why you're addressing these two particular individuals in such a wide array of newsgroups. I do not see either one of them posting anything derrogatory about you here. Perhaps you should simply address them in whatever group applies rather than posting to all groups? It's just a suggestion.

I think you are correct. I should only post to their newsgroups. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Say speaking of disabilities why do you consider mental illness a disability? I am aware of hospitals for developmentally disabled people and hospitals for mentally ill people.
The film Rain Main is a good watch for those wanting to observe someone with a developmental disability.
The film Falling Down is a good watch for those wanting to observe someone with a mental illness.
I have worked with both types and these films were very accurate in their portrayal.

BUT your retreat into traditionalist and fundamentalist fantasy is not a substitute for mental health counselling
Christianity is either an inspiration for social and intellectual and theological progress or it is merely irrelevant and antiquated crap
It is NOT just a safe refuge in a storm - when it is ONLY that, it has almost ceased to exist
In a progressive Church - perhaps another mainstream denomination you may find the atmosphere and help you need

John,
Move to Texas. Arnold might not lock you up; but George will. Here's what you do. Go to Texas to the mental health facility and start yelling "Mexicans are spiritual terrorists."

John... mental illness can, under certain situations, cause a person to have great difficulty with life functions, education, and employment. In such cases, it is a disability protected under ADA. It also, under certain situations, qualifies a person to receive SSI, SSDI, or other disability benefits.

Okay so there is a major difference between a developmental disability and a mental illness.

Not with respect to what you seem to be responding to.
> It took me going to some dozen different mental health facilities to > FINALLY connect with mental health professionals who knew what the > hell they were doing.
It takes some people a lifetime to accept what a mental health professional is telling them - rather like the alcoholic who will enter the doors of Hell before he will stop the drinking that causes the problem
What you tell us here is that for over twenty five years you have been in some sense mentally dysfunctional and all that time to a degree worse than the professionals assessed you to be
John for Heaven sake recognise when a health professional is telling you what you WANT to hear
If you want to get well - then look further - I am afraid your search is not over
But I do believe that if you relate ALL your symptomology - the paranoia - the special mission - the Holy Spirits "guidance" the Voices and the divine inspiration - the demons - the war service - all of it - a professional WILL be able to help you
We both know you have been only telling half the story
> He stated clearly that he has tried to get mental health treatment.

No I see someone who is retreating into fundamentalism as a "solution' to a mental health problem - It failed for you and it will fail for him. Christianity is rightly in turmoil - a whole phase of its history has come to an end. It cannot offer a secure and stable home- it may offer an exciting place for new ideas and new theologies but its traditional base is long gone - bar the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the looney Fundies and equally looney traditionalists currently propping up a hated Administration.

No hatred John - I pity you. Your own side has let you down by failing to bring you to professional help
(Deleted the rest of John the Arseholes abuse)
By the way you seem to think there is such a thing as a "Christian Whacko"
