Fried sweet potatoes

I was watching a Food Network show last week, "Chopped," and saw a chef make sweet potatoes in a good way. I decided to give it a try. Peel one sweet potato, then slice into 1/4" thick slices. Melt just a tiny bit of butter in a frying pan. Place slices in pan (one layer) then sprinke just a tiny bit of brown sugar on them....maybe 1/2 tsp.... more »

I've had it with our automatic drip coffeemakers burbling, gurgling, puffing, and basically just making a hell of a racket. At 5:00a.m. that's the last thing I want to hear when the alarm's going off in 30 minutes. Anyone know of a QUIET programmable auto drip coffee maker? Gawd - I hope so.
