About

The aim of the Affordable Housing Network NSW is to achieve a greater supply of affordable housing, which is also secure and appropriate, and located in sustainable and inclusive communities, in New South Wales.

It will do this by:
• sharing information about affordable housing initiatives and views about progress, and celebrating successes;
• providing opportunities for collaborative action by organizations involved in the network, such as research, lobbying or other campaigning, educational events, and housing partnerships/joint ventures.

Its focus is on local and regional environmental planning initiatives that provide, promote or protect affordable housing to low-moderate income households.

Membership of the network is open to workers in local governments, nongovernment organizations, workers in state government, developers and managers of affordable housing, and researchers in the third sector. People join as individuals, not as representatives of their employer/council.

It has regular face-to-face meetings in Sydney, every 3 months.

Decisions are made by consensus and are not binding on members except as agreed by them.

The Affordable Housing Network NSW was established on 16 April 2004.

This egroup was established in June 2007 following a decision of a meeting held 25 May 2007.
