Subject: Community land trust events
Hi all

The Urban Research Centre is proud to be hosting a March visit by John
E Davis, who has been researching, supporting and training community
land trusts in the US for over 20 years. Community land trusts are non-
profit organisations holding title to land in perpetuity for the
purposes of affordable housing (primarily low-income homeownership)
and other community uses. In 2007, the CLT foreclosure rate was less
than 1/30th the US national average.

His scheduled events are:

22 March

Public screening - "Homes & Hands: community land trusts in action"
plus "A New Way Home: sharing equity to build wealth". Sidetrack
Theatre, Addison Road Community Centre, 142 Addison Rd, Marrickville,
7pm-9pm. RSVP required.

23-24 March

Professional short course on community land trusts, Crowne Plaza
Hotel, 30 Phillip St, Parramatta. Registration required, full and
concession rates available, see
http://www.conferenceonline.com.au/index.cfm?page=details_conference&...

25 March

Public seminar - "Community land trusts: perpetually affordable
housing & community resilience", Mitchell Theatre, Sydney Mechanics
School of Arts, Level 1, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney, 11am-1pm,
refreshments at 10.30am. RSVP required, see
http://www.shelternsw.org.au/docs/fly0903seminar-about.html

I can be contacted about any of these events.

Kind regards
Louise
