Like the ODTUG conference, I'd like to invite speakers at Oracle Open
World 2009 on JDeveloper and ADF to post their presentations (titles
and abstracts) here, and for everybody to post what paritcular
sessions they're looking forward too.

S309421 "Oracle Fusion Development Experience: An Oracle Application
Development Framework Overview"
three slots: Sunday 10/11/2009 11:45 - 12:45, Monday 10/12/2009 14:30
- 15:30, and Tuesday 10/13/2009 16:00 - 17:00
Hilton Hotel, Continental Ballroom 6
S307648 "Ensuring Reusability in Oracle ADF: Designing for Data Model
and Component Reuse"
Tuesday 13-OCT-09 17:30 - 18:30
Hilton Hotel, Golden Gate 3
S309014 "Developing with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g: A Customer Case
Study"
Wednesday 10/14/2009 17:00 - 18:00
Moscone South, Room 304
S309421 is a demo-heavy session for ADF newbies, showing how to develop
basic ADF applications and how it fits into the Fusion MW stack.
S307648 is an intermediate-level session, covering ADF libraries,
templates, and reusable components.
And I have bad session karma apparently, because for about the 4th year
in a row, I'll be presenting the last session before the Wednesday
night festivities(!), but if you can stick around, S309014 will
highlight how one of our reference customers was successful in their
ground-up development of an 11g ADF/SOA app - their CIO and lead
developer will be on-hand to demo their application and answer your
questions about lessons learned, team development processes, etc.
And just a note for those new to OOW - In Middleware, at least, the
demo grounds in the exhibition hall are staffed by Product Managers,
and we all hang out there when not presenting, so that is a great way
to find us and ask questions that need more explanation than the
typical 5 minute Q&A session allows for.
Regards,
Lynn

This session will show Oracle Team Productivity Center <http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/tpc/index.html> our new ALM product that I'm very excited about. I'd welcome all your feedback. Hopefully many of you received the latest JDeveloper developer newsletter and filled in the survery about ALM tools that it contained
I feel like I'm coming full circle to my early days in Oracle Consulting when I was used as a Standards expert (CDM, Headstart etc) back to ALM and providing even more functionality in JDeveloper to help team development ;-)

This is a Hands-on lab (2 runs) that will take you through using UML modeler as a logical database modeler, transforming that to a physical database design, versioning and comparing versioned DB objects in Subversion, using template DB objects for standardization, creating SQL scripts, creating reports on offline DB models using SQL interface and much more
Hope to see you there - and of course, the Product Managers lounge - I mean demo grounds!

And to finish off the thread, the ADF Enterprise Methodology Group
will be running 3 slots, one on the official schedule, two as part of
the Unconference at OOW09.
Abstract: Although Oracle provides leading-edge software to build
enterprise applications, there's more to creating productive teams and
delivering successful projects than just the tools. The Oracle ADF
Enterprise Methodology Group, formed by Oracle Application Development
Framework (Oracle ADF) practitioners around the world to fill that
gap, considers wider issues such as best practices, maximizing code
reuse, optimizing teamwork, and more. In this session, Oracle
JDeveloper and Oracle ADF experts, including Oracle staff and Oracle
ACEs, talk about such high-level Oracle ADF considerations. The Oracle
ADF Enterprise Methodology Group is meeting at Oracle OpenWorld under
the banner of the ODTUG Fusion Middleware SIG for 2009.
Date/Time: Sunday 11-Oct-09 10:30-11:30
Location: Moscone West L3 Room 3014
...plus at the Oracle Unconference in Moscone West Overlook I from 1pm
to 3pm Wednesday October 14th, as kindly organised by Shay Shmeltzer.
We hope to see you there. Obviously the group is only as good as its
supporters, and thats you!
Just a quick note if anyone is interested on presenting an ADF related
topic as part of the unconference sessions let me know by the end of
this week. We have an open slot.
Thanks,
Juan Camilo

Title: Advanced Oracle ADF Faces Development
Track: Oracle Develop: Rich Enterprise Applications
Date: 11-OCT-09
Time: 15:45 - 16:45
Venue: Hilton Hotel
Room: Yosemite B
I am doing this with Matthias Wessendorf from our development team. We
present interesting topics - so we think - from the ADf / ADF Faces
space, including
contextual events, declarative components and active data services.
Might also be the first time you hear about dynamic declarative
components (DDC). Its a truly
advanced session.

Title: Mastering Oracle Application Development Framework Task Flow
Track: Oracle Develop: Oracle Fusion Development
Date: 12-OCT-09
Time: 16:00 - 17:00
Venue: Hilton Hotel
Room: Yosemite B
Its an intruduction - an overview - to ADF task flow. This is a good
starting point for developers who wan to get the
360 degree view to task flows
I am also presenting at the unconference.
Wednesday 14. October
3 pm Overlook I: The Secrets of ADF Region Interaction (Frank Nimphus)
Its a session going over known ADF region interaction patterns that
includes contextual events (you'll like the new visual editor we
added for the JDeveloper 11g Patch Set1 release) and more. To do some
advertising for the book Lynn and I are writing, the content is
taken from chapter 6 of it.

Looks like there's some really great ADF content at OOW this year!
Could I ask all group members that are speaking at OOW if they could
briefly mention the ADF EMG please. I've put together an ADF EMG promo
slide - feel free to use the bullet points or whole slide if you can -
see ADF_EMG_OOW2009.ppt in the Files section on the Google group.
