UNLOCKING TOPICS NuWiki Admin Guide Unlocking NuWiki Topics The "InMod" button contains a list of topics currently open, meaning, in edit mode. When an edit session is ended without going through wrapup by either filing or canceling the edit, InMod may still reflect that the topic is locked. Only an ubernerd can fix this if the person who has the phantom lock is not still attached to NuWiki.com. If that user was still there, they could edit the item again and either cancel or file it which would clear the lock. Unlock the topic
Anyway the topic is called using rsync and QM (or something to that effect).
I don't want to further blow up your phantom, so I'm going to stop on that one for now.
Now that is weird. I see you out there, and I am writing that "Unlocking" topic as you are working on yours. I hope it didn't mess you up.
I'm documenting how to unlock those topics that don't end normally by canceling or saving.
In the process, I am using a TCL command that grabs a "locked" item so that it can be put back in to play for all to access.
I was using a scratch item, not your topic, of course, so I'm not exactly sure how we crossed wires and would like to know that you got the end of that massive article in place.
Ok the site came back up, but I'm still having some trouble with that giant article. I can't seem to append anything on the end, even if I type it by hand. I also am now using the Plain text copy extension in Firefox. Maybe I've tried to edit it so many times, that I've put a bunch of garbage in there...
Unfortunately, to make the whole article make sense, more should be added. I have it all typed up.
I gave up for now, and added a piece on xinetd. I'll be sleeping soon, hopefully.
We have discovered, thanks to your post above, that the max length on an edit box is 25k~.
Your "RSYNC" article is currently at 24,785 bytes.
This would explain why you can't add more to it, but by the time you get up, it will have already been broken into two parts by the NuWikiGnomes.
Also, I fixed your other article "OPEN QM INSTALL REFERENCE" that had reported "mismatched delimiters".
This was due to a block of code enclosed in "<nowiki>" tags, probably coded by tired hands, as the closing one was not a closing one. Fixing that made your article much Wikier.
That previous 25K thing is incorrect. It turns out that there was "some restriction being imposed as this was developed on an 'older' system", in the words of the Lead Programmer.
That "restriction" was corrected and we have successfully tested with items up to 50K without further problems. One would hope that the author of a 50K topic might consider making it more than one part.
Even so, your article is now broken into two parts, but could be stitched back together into one easily if you like.
I also added a Table of Contents and a few other embellishments to make it look better.

In my email to you I said that I would work on breaking it up, but you seem to have done a great job in doing that already, so... Thanks. I appreciate your help.
