Subject: Multiple Pads
I recently received my second Mandala pad. Each works perfectly
alone.  When I open the "audio + pad setup" window, under 'pad 1' it
shows two mandalas with the exact same serial number (mandaladrum 1047
and mandaladrum 1047).  When I double check this in the device
manager, it shows two mandalas with two different serial numbers
(mandaladrum 1047 and mandaladrum 1298).  It seems that which ever
device I plug in second becomes the dominant pad.  If I plug in 1298
second, then it's serial number will appear twice under pad 1, pad
2, . . . .  The same happens for 1047, when I plug it in second. The
VB also seems to favor the new pad.  Even when the 'adio + pad setup"
window shows the older pad's serial number for both devices (1047) , I
can only play the newer pad.

Any ideas?

Chris

What OS are you on? I've hadn't any probs with 2 pads on OSX. When the
devices are unplugged, they still show in the MIDI devices as ghosted
out, I can rename them etc. VB seems to keep track of it all.... I
remember having one time I had to reselect the devices in audio/pad
setup because it lost them, but I presumed it was after I renamed the
devices.

hey kim how do u set up zones for 2 mandala and external application
like battery 3?
i will explain:
if i set lets say 3 zones each mandala and then i go to battery 3 how
are they suppose to work
cause every mandala its set to midi channel 1 for first zone, midi 2
for 2nd and so on......
its kinda confusing
i've tried with preset 250 to set second mandala to midi ch 8,9,10
respectively for each zone and it doesn't work
it seems the setting when saved its still also for mandala 1,it
doesn't look at all like there's 2 preset 250 for any mandala,
i'm on a pc....
toughts?
w.

here's from an old post in the group...the title is 'saving custom
midi settings in pad':

Looks like to avoid a bug with certain Windows systems where your
custom MIDI settings are wiped from the Mandala upon quitting the
Virtual Brain program you should set your Mandala the way you want it
using preset 250 or another preset and then pull the USB cable from
the pad before you quit the Virtual Brain.  That avoids the
accidental
reset.

maybe this could help you with setting up your pads for battery 3?

I'm using vista.  I emailed Synesthesia, and they responded the next
day.  I guess it's the first time someone has reported this problem,
but they are looking into it.  I use an M-Audio MobilePre USB to
output my sounds.  I uninstalled the M-Audio software but the problem
persists.  Are others using two Mandalas on Vista?

i have one pad set to 3 zones with notes 60,61,62 on channel 1 and
another pad set to 3 zones with notes 60,61,62 on channel 2.  the
cells i want to trigger in battery3 are looking for one of those notes
on one of those channels and i have separate triggering for all of
them with no randomness.  is there a chance some of your cells are set
to omni?...or a range of notes instead of a single note?  sounds like
it could be a MIDI channel issue.
