They will not hurt your rankings if they can not be followed by
robots, either because of the link format, or the addition of a
rel="nofollow" tag.

Surely unless they are high-traffic sites with a good PR then the
links are all but worthless anyway? I wouldn't pay anyone a penny in
cash or kind to link to me; quality sites don't give links because you
offer them inducements and, tbh, I really don't want my logo on poor-

I've just put up an affiliate scheme for people to join and earn
commission on any bookings.

Would these affiliate links be considered as paid links and would they
harm my ranking in search results?

It looks like the theoretical background of this question was not
really motivating for anybody's mind:)

P.s.: The question was not about me- when you are working on the 45+
market it is not likely that more then 5% of our customers have
websites at all:)

This type of thing is so annoying - you work hard to develop good,
compelling & unique content and somebody comes along and steals it
word for word.

I had one particularly amazing case with a client of mine...what I
thought was amazing was who it was the was stealing their content -

Hi BB,
I think it is important that you
clearly state on your website a discount like that,
and
have rel="nofollow" added to those inbound <a> links
(this also clearly stated in your terms and conditions)

I do not think it is so simple as it is included in many many B2B
client realtionships, quite naturally. And for example nobody thinks
that backlinks from resellers to the manufacturer is blackhat.

What are the etchical limits of mapping your offline business
relationships to online(links)?
