Subject: Site Verification
SERIOUSLY need help -  I'm a jewelry designer/manufacturer who has had
my site up and working for the past two (2) YEARS - google
accessable.  I used Web Easy software/Avanquist publishing - hosted by
IEasysite.  It was wonderful, easy for me, and site looked lovely -
easy to manipulate. Until RECENTLY!!!  When i've received the messages
about the site being 'suspicious".    My site is www.roxoxox.com -
Yes, real name - real LLC - jewelry co.   I have tried to add Meta
Tag, and.or upload HTML.  Site it not verified still.  I get the
following:Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Aug 20, 2008: The verification meta tag is in the wrong
location on the page. It must be within the first <HEAD> section of
the page.

As Web Easy does not allow me to see the HTML code - I can only assume
i'm placing correctly on the home page -  THE Premiere of MY JEWELRY
is in the next week for FASHION ROCKS -  I NEED TO BE
ACCESSABLE!!!!!.....  Thanks, in advance -  I can't rebuild the site
with other software - this has been beautiful for years...why now???
Please help..

Hi Auggie,

From looking at your home page I can see the verification
meta tag is NOT in the correct place.
To see the code yourself you can display the page in
a browser and select view source.
In IE this is under the page button at the right side of the task bar.
On FireFox you can use thew view selection at the top left
and select page source or alternately just hit ctrl-U.
You can also look at the cove via an online viewer
such as Rex at http://www.rexswain.com/httpview.html

Currently it is located in the <body> section of the page.
You need to place it in the <head> section.

Do you have the ability to download and upload your pages?
Maybe with FTP?
If so then maybe you could download your home page
and edit it with a text only editor like notepad (Not word or wordpad)
add the required line then re-upload the file back up to the server
where your site is hosted.

Or if you can't download could you at least upload
a blank file (You can create it with notepad) with
the required name or maybe just use your
current online tool to create a page(doesn't matter what's
in it) and save it as the required URL just as you named your
current pages. Google just really needs to find a page that
has the required name\URL. Whether you use your online tool
or create one locally and upload does not matter.
It just needs the right name\URL.

If you can't do any of the above then sorry, you can't verify
the site.

Hopefully you can use one of the above methods.

Hope that helps,
Abracadabra

Looks like you may have been a victim of some sort of injection. This
usually happens when you have a forum or if you have a form that
displays previous users' replies. Zombie-bots go out and look for
these forms and inject links to other malware sites. Those links could
be what is causing the 'suspicious site' warnings. I didn't really
want to poke around on your site very much, considering the warnings.
But you would know if your site is safe enough to poke around.

The links being reported are to jkn3.ru, locm.ru, ncbw.ru. I didn't
see anything like that on your home page, but they might be on other
pages.

Looks like you were able to place the verification meta tag in the
right place. Did that help getting you verified as the owner? If so,
you can request the site to be reviewed for malware, but don't do that
until you have checked your site thoroughly for links to the above
sites (or any other sites that you don't know) and removed them.

Subject: Site Verification
My site has been verified ok for a few weeks but when I checked today
I found the status had changed to NOT VERIFIED.  I have re-loaded the
HTML page and added the requested meta-tag but verification using
either method is unsuccessful.  Each time the error message "We
encountered an error looking up your site's domain name." is returned,
even though the page is visible in the browser.  Having read through
the help pages I have checked that the error 404 is returned for non-
existant pages, but I can't see any other solutions for this problem.
Any ideas?
