The only insight that I can provide is that webmaster's tools
reporting of data is seriously flawed and to be ignored. There is little connection between it and reality. Perform the site search as I did if you really want to see how many URLs are indexed. So you've got 12,377 pages listed in the sitemap and 22,400 indexed
