ah ok cheers for that, i thought google would follow the text links on
the site to find pages too, and also the sitemap which clearly
says.php

Hi Nick,
Sorry, me again.
Pages of your site other than the home page
do have <a> links to URLs of your site with www,
so I think the best thing is to change the absolute URLs
in the links in your home page (that are to your site without www)
to absolute URLs of your site with www in the domain name.

Hi Nick,
You have links in your home page to
absolute URLs of your site without www,
that are not added to the sitemap by sitemap generators
when you ask for a sitemap for your site with www in the URL,
because
URLs with www and without www are considered as from
different domains regarding the sitemap.

Thank you for your help. However, I'm clearly missing some minor
although critical point...once my sitemap is generated, do I save it
as a page in my site, or paste it into the HTML, or what? I'm not
seeing how to connect the sitemap generated with my domain name.

If you are trying to paste in the full URL, e.g. yourdomain/
sitemap.xml, that will cause a problem. You just need to add the
sitemap.xml (or whatever your file name is) part, the domain name is
already there.

Should the problem be something else, you may be better to provide
the sitemap URL.

I've generated a sitemap using one of the google supported sites. When
I go to the Webmaster tools, dashboard, sitemap, add sitemap, there's
an open box following my domain name. I've tried to paste in the URL
of my site map, but I'm getting a 404 message.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dominic

No point self destructing over a sitemap. I was curious about the
Yahoo set up (only slightly) and took a look. Made a sitemap for you
along the way, this is in your website email, along with a few
instructions.

You could try the joomla extension joomap

One word of caution though after installing you should deactivate the
'secret' link back to author in the extensions backend.

my site Givemefootball ([link]) is currently included
within Google News, my developers are re building the site from the
ground up.

1) The new sites page URL's do not have a unique 4 digit number within

Once Google has seen a URL it will keep coming back for it ad
infinitum. Your best solution is to put up a 301 redirect from
listen.html to listen.php
