We have uploaded a couple of site maps for our various sites, and they
have been successfully indexed by Google.

However, our site map for www.cnettv.com was uploaded 4 months ago,
shows no errors, but is still NOT being indexed. Is there a particular
reason the site map for www.cnettv.com is not being indexed by Google?

Why would you want your sitemap indexed?

22,000 pages of the site are indexed.
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=site:cnettv.com

Sitemaps have very little if anything to do with indexing just
discovery.

I apologize! I was not clear in my posting.

We don't want the actual XML site map file to be indexed in Google's
search results, but we do want the URLs in the XML site map (http://
www.cnettv.com/9741-1_53-0.xml?...editionid_=3&_tilename_=.site-map-i...)
to be indexed by Google. This file was submitted on February 19,
2008.

Currently, this is what Google shows us in our Webmaster Tools account
for the site www.cnettv.com:

Sitemap stats
Total URLs: 12377
Indexed URLs: 0

Here is an example of a site map that did have URLs successfully
indexed from the XML file for www.download.com:

Sitemap stats
Total URLs: 98306
Indexed URLs: 92382

Any insight on why Google is not "discovering" our XML site map for
CNET TV, but has indexed the others?

The only insight that I can provide is that webmaster's tools
reporting of data is seriously flawed and to be ignored.  There is
little connection between it and reality.  Perform the site search as
I did if you really want to see how many URLs are indexed.

So you've got 12,377 pages listed in the sitemap and 22,400 indexed
yet webmasters tools reports zero.  Hmmm.

I looked only at one or two sitemaps from
your sitemap index file
(I think they are all video sitemaps, but I repeat
I did not look at all of them),
the video URLs are not frorm the main site
but for example from a subdomain
download.cnettv.com.edgesuite.net

I do not know if this is a problem, but
just in case that it could be considered
similar to a cross-site sitemap,
did you verify site ownership
in Google Webmaster Tools also for
download.cnettv.com.edgesuite.net
