It is not magic.

Question: What does that code do?
Answer: It adds an event listener for geoXml.

So...
You need to put it after the GGeoXml object is created, but before the
load event might fire.

I will post my working example when I have a chance...

You could try OpenStreetMap. Google's data is worth a lot of money--
they won't give it to you. (actually the data they license for lots of
money--belongs to NAVTEQ for example).

Hey,

I'm trying to make my code as easy for me to use, as it is to copy and
paste addresses into a text file. The webpage will then load links for
those locations, as well as show markers on my map.
I'm currently able to read my addresses, and use the links correctly,
but the map will not load the markers automatically.

Actually if you're using the Maps API you can use GEvent.trigger(),
which is cross-browser.

G_SATELLITE_TYPE hasn't worked for well over a year now. Your source
book / tutorial may be out of date.

I don't fully understand your question.
However looking at what you've done - Gevent.add(map, "click") - it
seems you have added an onClick event to the map and not to the
marker.
To add an onClick event to the marker, you have to pass the marker and
not the map to Gevent.add.

Yes.

One way to do that you would be to add clickable polygons of all the
"regions" that you have lists of customers for, then list them when
the click event occurs.

Thanks, but where would I put this code? Also I'm not using
buttonClick anywhere else in my code. It is the code from your links
that does the zoom.

It is possible to do that yes.

Whether you are able is not really possible for us to say. Depending
on the number of points it might not be that easy. (ie if you have
lots, it could be a lot of work - unless you use a off the self
solution)
